The four designated bags 指定袋

Burnable 燃やすしかないごみ
Everything ≤50cm. Plastic PRODUCTS without the プラ mark (toothbrush, Ziploc, hanger, toys) go HERE, not green.

Food waste 生ごみ
Drain water well. At the akiya: compost in the garden instead (dig, bury, mix) unless the ground is frozen.

Landfill (non-burnable) 埋立ごみ
Blades → wrap in newspaper, write 「刃物」. Glass/ceramics → wrap, write 「ガラス」. Next to the name field.

Plastic packaging プラスチック製容器包装
プラ-marked packaging ONLY — rinsed clean AND dried. Can't clean it? Red bag. Never double-bag in a shopping bag.

Loose at the station — no bag

  • Cans 缶類: Empty + rinse → blue container. Spray cans: empty the gas, no puncturing.
  • Glass bottles びん類: By color: white = clear, brown = brown, yellow = other. Metal cap → blue bag, plastic cap → green bag. Rinse.
  • PET bottles ペットボトル: Cap → green. Label → green. Rinse. Crush. Bottle → the net.
  • Paper 古紙類: FOUR separate bundles (newspaper / magazines & misc / cardboard / cartons), each tied in a cross with 紙ひも.
  • Old clothes 古着類: Tied in a cross, bundle ≤50×50×50cm.

Golden rules

  1. Write the name on EVERY bag's 記名欄 (default: アキヤコレクティブ).
  2. Out between 6:00–8:00am on the day. NEVER the night before — crows, bears, neighbors.
  3. Sticker on your bag = rejected. Take it back, fix it, resubmit on the next correct day.
  4. Batteries never go in any bag: dry cells → 一斉回収 dates; rechargeable/lithium → shop take-back.
  5. Burnable over 50cm won't fit? Cut it down — or it's a paid trip to Clean Hill (持ち込み票 form).
  6. Summer holidays (Jul–Oct): only burnable + food waste are collected; everything else skips.
  7. Used oil & ink cartridges → drop-off points (city hall, Clean Hill, culture center).
